Hello!!!

I'm Guilherme Faria Martins.

I’m a passionate Level Design / World Builder who graduated in history and am skilled in Maya, Zbrush, PS, Illustrator, and Unreal/ Unity/ Source/ Hammer. With knowledge in design and art with a focus on creating Worlds, Regions, Zones, Areas, Levels, Battlegrounds (PvP/PvE), and Missions for Games.

I'm the Principal Level Designer / World Builder at HighStreet MMO. I Develop level design and world standards and best practices; Prove out encounter spaces that enhance the player experience and deliver on the game's goals; Develop and maintain metrics that allow other departments, such as environment art, to create spaces for the highest standard; Enable the game's overall structure, pacing and worldbuilding; Enhance other systems and features by driving their inclusion and best use in levels and encounters; Mentor and manage other level designers. So, I'm a problem solver.

My passion for games comes from a very young age. I was born and raised in the Midwest of Brazil. And I had the opportunity to win an Atari🕹when I was a kid. Then I went through several generations of video games along with the consoles I had for pc games. I remember playing Super Mario World with my brother and cousins on Super Nintendo and Unreal Tournament with my dad on PC.

But it was at LanhHouses (places where gamers gathered to play games)
where I found myself as a gamer. Playing hours and hours of Counter-Strike,
GTA and Warcraft/World of Warcraft I found the games that accompany me
until today and north in my professional life.

Joined my passion for games with History, Tolkien Books, RPG, and Lego. I started to develop an interest in creating scenarios and worlds. I studied 3D modeling and started making 3D plans for houses and buildings. It was then that I had the opportunity to enter the gaming industry as a Level Designer.
Working in small studios makes you more of a role. Joining the need and my
interest, I ended up doing a job as a 3D environment artist. This allowed me to be a Level Designer with both designer and artist skills, allowing me to explore more areas in my work.

Which allowed me to work on projects from indie to AAA. I always try to
improve myself with my studies, taking courses, and updating myself. I have a private library with several books on Level Designer, Gamer Designer, Game Art, Architecture, and History. I have my own professional studio at home so I can have all the hardware and software support to have the best working infrastructure for any studio.

Being a generalist at the beginning of my career allowed me to create a style
and I like to always learn. I developed skills in other areas such as 3d
modeling and programming that help me a lot in my work as a Level Designer and World Builder.

I have a PC gamer, Xbox One, and PS4 and I'm always playing and testing new games, focusing on learning new game dev practices, mechanics, levels, etc.

And of course, having more games on my favorites list. In addition to playing
consoles and PCs, I play a lot of mobile games.

In addition to hard skills, I always improve my soft skills. From emotional intelligence, and professional secrecy to the organization and discipline of schedules and deliveries within the maximum deadline. Most importantly, a good relationship with many co-workers, whether in person or remotely.
